Sunshine In A Bottle

The pot calls the kettle black.

But nevermind about that.

Just got home from Colmar, will blog about that soon enough.

For now, here's another few experiments and some random piccies.

We're supposed to use carbon tetrachloride to test the presence of halogens (if anyone can still remember what they are :P).

See~ Pretty purple colour shows presence of Iodine which has displaced some other halide ion!

I think. =.="

You can find many pretty things in the lab. I like this moonstone-looking solids.

Which I forgot what they are already. What did we use those for again? ^.^"

Well, we can see how my chem exam paper is gonna turn out.

YESSSS, MY SUNSHINE IN A BOTTLE!

I spazzed over this from the time Sir took it out till the end of the lesson.

IS IT NOT THE PRETTIEST? :D

It just makes me wanna smile everytime I see it. =)

Then you add acid and stuff and it becomes like that. Bleh...

Percipitate.

After adding some other chemicals and what nots, you can get back your Sunshine In A Bottle!

Yeah, it goes around in a circle and finally you get Potassium Chromate back. (I think so, I can't read the label anymore.)

Then a titration experiment. Titrations are troublesome as hell. D:

Measure measure...

Shut up. Despite what SOME people claim, I am wearing something under my labcoat. =.=

Swirl swirl...

OH WAIT! I remember what the pretty solid is already. It's some basic compund that we had to weight and dissolve and then titrate with!

Yay! I remembered! There is hope for me yet! *claps*

When you get a "faint, presistent pink" colour, stop the titiration and measure the volume of Potassium Permanagate used.

Lookit, purple star! =)

Went to watch Up at TCM the other day.

Cute ^.^

The front part was so sad! T___________T

I mean, Fredricksen's past, not the mini cloud story. Don't get me wrong, that was super touching as well; the stork is so loyal! =)

Seriously, super sweet! But too bad, no one to spazz with. Went with two guys, and they aren't the 'sensitive' type. Meh...

It was like:

T.T

>.>

<.<

=.=

But I found it quite good and it wasn't a completely, unbelievably happy ending like some shows are, which was what I've always liked about Pixar.

But sweet all the same. :)

"BUT IT'S A TALKING DOG!" :D

And and and, I think I still owe Sam 4 bucks. =.=

I managed to force guilt bribe annoy persuade him to watch the movie with me to kill my stoning time. =D

BAD ASS COFFEE FTW! xD

My Rocky-eating, Aih!-going, Shupshupshup-complaining math lecturer, Mr Peter. :)

Does Ice-Cream cheer up your mornings??

It does mine! :D

Until someone starts sighing at the fact that ice-cream in the mornings are not good for my diet.

I should prolly listen to her.

But it's chocolate-flavoured so the usual rules don't apply.

Lee Lee and I ordered the exact same things! Fillet set with an Apple Pie!

Ok, I know it's not some profound discovery or something. Spare me, I'm easily amused that way. :P

Lovezz,

P.S.: Anyone else think I need a bigger pencil case? D:

But this one is pretty too! Haih...

On The Balcony Ledge

She’s all wrapped up in her serenity
As she walks out into twilight
Her footsteps soft as the falling snow
Gazing as the colours turn to night

Donned in a thin white dress
She wants to be like the pristine snow
In a free fall from the eternal sky
Till they hit the ground below

A blanket of pure white
As far as she can see
No one around to hear her cry
No one to leave her be

Her hands are cold but safe
Her fingers numb but red
She places them on the balcony ledge
And thinks of all that’s been said

Biting winds swirl past her
She all but savours the feeling
Nothing calls out to her
Her blue heart is slowly racing

Her dark hair whips past her face
Her eyes shining with esprit
On a thin layer of white
Her bare feet step willingly

And there she lingers
As the last rays die away
She knows she won’t last long
But she has no more to say

On the balcony ledge
She watches for signs of life
She finds not one breath
Silence cuts like a knife

She falls against the wall
The desolation deafening her
Alone on an icy winter’s night
By herself without another

The sky has faded to inky violet
And her hands from red to blue
Still she perseveres on the ledge
She knows it’s time for her due

It was so simple really
She could now comprehend
Once and forevermore
And the pain will soon end

One by one the lights go off
The night sky oblivion black
The flakes falling quietly
But her resolution would not crack

Even as the stars stop twinkling
And the night grows colder still
She clenches into a tight ball
Her spirit had not lost its will

Then she pulls her head up
And watches with her tireless eyes
Though it’s been a sleepless night
Already it’s time for goodbyes

As the horizon seems to glow
She stands up on weak feet
A sense of bliss had overcome her
Emancipation she would meet

The fall would not save her
But the empty bottle behind her might
She knows where she belongs now
And it wasn’t in this lonely night

All by herself even now
She waves for all to see
Says goodbye to mother and father
Goodbye to friends and you and me

Blue fingers straighten out her pretty dress
Runs through her pretty hair
Wipes the tears off her pretty face
For the world to see her bare

They now grip the chilly ledge
She clambers up with certain grace
Looks down at the deep snow
She feels her heart slow to a pace

She watches the horizon in a dream
Standing tall in the vestiges of the night
Wanting and waiting and wishing
For a different kind of light

But none comes to save her
And it is almost time
Her hopes had fallen through
When she hears a distant chime

Anticipation wells up inside
The first rays of the day hit her
Tiny beacon of leftover hope
With the sun risen over

She cannot continue longing
She knows that from before
She closes her eyes from the ache
And feels warmed to the core

Then as the beam illuminations her
She opens up her eyes
If one were close enough
They could almost hear her sighs

As she takes one more final step
And her foot touches nothing
She feels a moment of weightlessness
Before she begins plunging

That moment she relishes
The moment she is free
As she falls in a white flurry
Down into a white sea

She gives herself into fancy
Maybe an angel or a snowflake
Falling so fast but it took so long
She pleads it hasten for her sake

Her eyes widen with the cold
Her misty breath hitches too
Then she was no more of this world
And her heart was no longer blue

Colour Me Acid

I wonder why I wonder so much sometimes.

ANYWAYS, we're finally back on track with the experiments. Hopefully doing the dissection this Thursday too.

But first, check out our Chem one.

Locker number 31!

The pH paper is way more chunted than the ones they used in secondary or primary where there was only blue and red.

Wheee~! See, it's changing now when I add acid!

I love this strip. Probably because of the pretty blue. :D

Universal indicator. Which either problematic sudah or we didn't wash our test tubes clean because we kept getting the wrong results. =.=

Pretty copper sulphate! It's sparklezzz!

We had to heat it up to dehydrate it.

Which makes it turn white. See, now it's boring ol' white. And it doesn't sparkle. Feh...

Yessss, Joe Jonas is awesome!

After IELTS exam (please don't ask how it was) on Saturday, went to makan and help with the painting again.

Bipolar boss let me paint on his leg too!

Yay! Crazing paving on a leg! Kinda. o.o

Random ferret

Random ferret's buddy

Random guinea pig

Not-so-random iguanas o.o

JAP BUFFET BBQ YAY! Lookit, yummiez!

Cheh.... =.=

The sauce which cousin told me is made up of 18 ingredients(!) but doesn't taste as awesome as it should?

We got the Kinki room. Imma assume Kinki as in Kansai region and not some other.... kinki. =.=

Foodz!

I am hungry.

Note to self: Don't ever eat dark mint chocs with potato chips again. They taste weird. Like salty toothpaste.

Lovez salmon sashimi!

And lamb! Yay lamb!

But they somehow shrunk on the grill. D:

Ostrich!

Cousin: You try before?
Me: Er, not on BBQ.
Cousin: Try la. Taste like chicken 1, but bu shi heng hao chi (not very nice to eat).
Me and Sis: o.O Heh?

Dessert!

They didn't have Chocolate! I'm pretty sure that's like some extremely serious crime in the Chocoholic Rule Handbook.

Had to settle with Strawberry, which still made me hyper anyway. :D

Pretty lamp in the waiting area! It rotates!

Cousin renovated the downstairs bathroom and I super love the new sink!

They also shifted the vase of flowers in, which I thought was resourceful of them.

I don't know why Crystal finds this fascninating. Personally, I thought the smear looked like a penguin with a colourful mohawk.

Somehow.

This weekend was a busy one. Sunday night, another buffet. But for steamboat this time.

I forget what it's called. Somewhere in the shop lots opposite Pyramid.

Sigh, they see camera, straightaway pose liao. =.="

My food! I eat very little nia.

Nooooo, this isn't my first round outta a dozen. 0:D

And please ignore the lamb slices in the back. =)

Pinhead mushrooms pwnz!

Mi and Di :)

"Wo poke ta de eye eye!" (I poke it's eye eye!)

Should I be worried? o.O

For some weird reason unbeknownst to mankind, my cousin who is 12 years older than me likes to act cute.

His girlfriend was like dash dot dash.

OYSTERS! xD

Sister has never dared to eat raw oysters before. But she decided to brave the slimy seafood that night.

*gulps*
*gags*

That was some funny shit. ;P

Don't know why take me also. No reaction 1.

Because I actually like them. :9

I still don't know how they are an aphrodisiac though. No difference before and after. =.=

She is soooo cute.

Last night, she was sitting in a corner quietly munching on biscuits.

Then suddenly she said in a deadpan vioce: "Ni kan, zhe li you ant ant! Wo gei ta chi biscuit!" (you see, here got ant ant! I let them eat biscuits!)

Cousin getting his money's worth.

At least they had chocolate there. =.=

This weekend we're going on a retreat to Berjaya Hills!

Was deciding between PD and Hills but when Megan saw the rabbit park on the Hills, the idea was sold.

No more discussion. Finite.

Can't wait. I think we all need the break.

Lovezz,
