Port Dickson 2

So mafan.

Just because I'm starting in a local Uni, terpaksa take MUET. It's exactly the same as IELTS with the reading and writing all that and I aced that.

But nooooo, seems they can't just accept that. Need to mafan mafan wake up at 6.30am and go to Seafield (yeah, I chose there as my centre, ah memories...) to write stupid essays and crap something for half an hour again.

Honestly I'm most scared of the speaking part because there's that thing where you imporomptu need to come up with super long (and at least slightly intelligent sounding) answers.

Actually that part is still ok; I'm quite good at crapping. But what I can't do is being judged in front of a panel of people who are watching for every slip up I make.

Eeeep!

Anyways, it's on the 24th so maybe I'll see some old friends there if there's ko-ku. *coughstjohncough* T_T

Eyes getting much better, even right eye seems to be clearing up a little. Will be back to normal soon I hope and I can finally be rid of these horrendous glasses.

Yay!

Second and third day pics from PD!

Buffet brekkie had plain yoghurt. I like this place. :D

Has like most things a normal buffet with western breakfast would have. Except BACON.

Ok, don't like them so much anymore. =.=

Food is quite cold and tastes thin too. So actually overall is ok ok only.

Niece eating mee. Or cereal.

Ok it was mee. But I've been craving cereal for the past few weeks and it's constantly on my brain now. T_T

Megan, super no appetite because she wanted to go swimming real bad lol.

After makan, I went back for a nap then joined them at the pool for a late lunch.

You know, since I couldn't swim because I didn't wanna risk infecting everyone in the pool with my eyes.

Ugh, my eyes sounds like some really serious pandemic thingy. =.=

Random craving for ceasar salad which daddy complied. :DDDD

But the croutons were super chewy and oily and totally ruined it since that's one of my favourite part of a ceasar salad.

Yes, I do get random food cravings and totally random times. Don't ask me why. My stomach just speaks to me like that you know.

Then I'll just keep going to my kitchen to check the fridge and cupboard even though I know that particular item isn't there. But I'll still check half a dozen times first anyway.

I know I'm a glutton shaddap.

I actually want steaming garlic bread now. Pizza Hut one.

Bleh. Hungry.

My nieces so cute!

Sis also can swim coz she's not all red eyed. D:

Eddie koko floating.

FLOATING NOODLE FTW.

Cousin watching over her daughters in the shallow area.

Lol, they have these poncho thingys to dry off. Super cute, makes them look like one of those shrouded Mexicans.

Got back to hotel room to take a call while the parents' turn to nap.

They came to our room to kacau us since the rest were asleep too lol.

The parents said they would to take us to the beach! But in the end tak jadi. D:

Who comes to PD and doesn't go to the beach I ask you?

Ok, us. But I guess the beach was hard to access from our hotel anyway.

Instead, we went down to Melacca that night!

Lol so semangat.

Actually my cousin and her husband does this often since he's from Melacca and they love the food there.

So we stopped by this alley for dinner.

Very yum!

Got lala and see ham and fish and vege and more!

We ate plates and plates of them! Around 15 of the clams itself maybe? =X

Eat like this.

But this one they did half raw and we weren't used to it, so not so nice. Sent back for them to cook fully again.

Supposed to go for second round but we were too full so Gaik jie jie suggested go Jonker Street for a walk first.

Passed by this on the way. Stuff is probably cheaper than the other Top Man though lol.

Wah, so crowded and brightly lit!

Can see my cousin walking up ahead with my niece.

Basically they have all sorts of cheap food and stuff here.

Really all sorts, ranges from ting ting tang to fried radish to takoyaki.

Even got DIY candy floss machine! But the short repetitive song that comes on when it starts spinning is so annoying. -.-

Stuff they sell also alot in variety, like earring stands, soft toys, undies, face masks and pottery.

There's even a pub in the corner with drinks and singing and stuff.

Check out this huge drink my cousin got. Ok only, fruity but too light.

Lol, and check out my hand sanitizer at the side which I used so often to disinfect what I might have touched and infected. =.=

Didn't go back empty handed of course. Besides some snacks we got, my nieces also got these!

I really loved playing with them when I was their age.

Actually, even now also still like.

And this just goes to show that people of all ages can enjoy it. Go daddy!

Aww, so sweet. :)

Cousin's girlfriend wearing glasses too because she also got it. We're infected, the whole lot of us. T__T

Finally, it was time for the second round. Though by this time it was already nearly supper time.

Come to Melacca with cousins, of course must eat satay celup!

Look at all teh food!

They will just keep refilling for you and then count the sticks at the end. So don't worry about running out.

Omg so hungry now. T_T

Pig ears! Which I tried since daddy said it was crunchy.

It was more pokey really but not bad.

Usual omnomnom pic.

Ignore retarded hair, it got in the way of my noms.

Century eggy! :D

For a bunch of 'not really hungry' people, this is what we have to show. :D

Omgomgomgomg, the ride back was super scary!

Well, we got there using GPS as well but it was still daytime then so maybe we were traveling the same roads too.

But at night around eleven plus, it is so damn frightening. T___T

The roads we took (if you can even call them roads) were even more ulu then PD! It was all dark and scary with no streetlights.

As if that wasn't freaky enough, along both sides of the road, there was nothing but a dense forest. Trees and bushes everywhere with no sign of life or civilization around for miles.

It was so silent and dead. And we were traveling for more than an hour along these roads, hardly passing other cars and the only light source was from our two cars' headlights.

Ok not that terrifying for me who wasn't driving and blasting music in the back, nor those few that fell asleep and didn't wake up till we stopped.

But for the two drivers, I'm sure it wasn't the best drive of their lives.

Summore my cousin who was riding shotgun suddenly saw a sign that said "JALAN KE SILIAU" or something like that.

And well, si liau means 'die already' in Hokkien. O.O

Totally freaked her out and when we finally saw a police station right in the middle of nowhere, we chanced it and Eddie koko went down to get directions.

Turns out the GPS was leading us the right way (despite it being a really scary way) and we got there around 12.30 as the GPS predicted.

BUT IT WAS STILL WAY FREAKY. Especially the dark forest on both sides.

Cousin's room loaned a crab catcher.

So cool! Wasn't really intending to kill and eat them. The crabs really were quite small and didn't have much meat anyways.

We let them go the next day before we left.

Got up late on Sunday and checked out right away.

Cousin suggested to go to Mid Valley for lunch.

I always forget the chee cheong fun at My Toast isn't nice. =.=

But soft boiled eggs are awesome as usual!

Eat eat eat.

Nyeeeh~!

Hmm, squating habit very catching.

Dessert for Janice!

They were having this huge Alice in Wonderland thing there that day.

The singing flowers!

Which reminded me that I haven't even watched yet!

Will go soon now that vision is clearing up. Hope they still showing it, I've been so cut off these last few weeks. T.T

They even had a performance every few hours!

Not the real actors no matter how much I wish they were. T______T

Red Queen!

Didn't manage to get the White Queen's display. D:

Tea time! So prettily laid table.

It was pretty cool and quite elaborate. Lotsa effort but worth it because it was like forever crowded with people snapping photos and stuff.

And look!

Big bag of Bobbi Brown stuff!

Nah, just kidding. It's a free teapot and teacup set for more than RM300 spent at certain shops. I think.

Anyways, Bobbi Brown is one of them and the lady there is a good friend of my cousin's so she gave this bag to carry the box in.

Fianlly got home around 5 plus and rested.

Fun trip, so maybe it wasn't such a bad thing mum dragged me along after all. I liked the chalets anyways even f there was no beach.

And that I had to look like a blind bat most of the time. -__-

P.S.: Dunno why I've been rambling nonsensically the last few days. Example would be the last three posts.

Just in the mood I guess.

Red Eyes

For more than one reason.

My effing eye infection is going to cost me my effing job.

Barely a few hours into the day, and I was already sick of it. Why? Because I just wasted half the day travelling and doing absolutely nothing at all but waste money.

Woke up at 6 am today and spent the next four and a half hours doing nuts in the college cafeteria while waiting for mum to send me to work. Yes, I still can't see clearly enough to drive.

Then I called them and they said there was only computer work to be done and I really didn't want to risk my eyes for a job that I didn't even like. So they said next week come if no changes.

Doesn't sound good. But then again, I'm surprised they haven't fired me yet. What good is a worker that can't work?

But I'm disposable, they're not. I don't like this this job but I need it because their pay is reasonable and the hours suit me (and my mum's work schedule) perfectly. And I really let my parents down by wasting the last few months away so I want to earn some cash asap. I need the job, can't mess this up.

Daddy offered to try to take me home from college but mummy later decided to take me back around 11 instead. All 25km and then back to work.

I really don't say it enough but thanks. Everytime I blog about them, I'm in an angry mood that I fail to mention that they may not be my ideal parents, and I'm not their ideal daughter, but we're a family and I really love them.

They care for me in their own way though sometimes it's lost under their temper and lectures. I think we hurt each other unknowingly sometimes and I'm sorry for all the times I did that.

Thanks for taking care of me and putting up with me all these years. I am eternally in debt and gratitude to your sacrifices.

P.S.: If you're wondering how I blog, I take a fifteen minute break every ten minutes or so or the screen becomes just one big blur. Don't think my boss will like it if I did that.

P.P.S.: I sleep now. Was already sleeping just now but suddenly woke up because of an sms and felt like blogging.

Sometimes the two roads diverging is not some life changing decision.

It won't make all the difference to you.

It's not placed in a yellow wood or bent in the undergrowth or grassy and want for wear.

It's just a tiny fork, one path gleaming bright and obvious before you; the other path perhaps snaking quietly through the ground, barely able to be dicerned by the naked eye.

But it's there and you know it is.

So do you take it? Should you? Why? Why not?

Think carefully. Never act out of anger or apathy, sloth or spitefulness.

Because people never realize how important one small gesture is. Maybe not to the doer, but to that someone else you might not even know.

You'd be surprised of the consequences of one supposedly insignificant action sometimes.

One small choice of whether to go left of right could either save a soul or break a heart.

And it's entirely your choice.

When It Comes To Myself...

I can save myself.

I like being independent. I don't like putting my faith into something or someone else. I like taking myself around and doing my own thing.

Don't get me wrong, I do need and appreciate the company of my loved ones. It's just, there are certain things.

I do certain things on my own, in my own way.

I've always done that and I like it that way. I hate relying on someone else because you just can't trust someone one hundred percent.

It's not just because there are ignorant people out there, or people that know but are apathetic towards your plight, or the fair-weathered friends that disappear when the fun's over.

Some really have a good heart, they just don't have the resources to help. Inevitable things can block their way.

Sometimes you can't even trust yourself to pull through. Inevitable things can and will block your way too.

A plan can never be a hundred percent full proof because of this, the percentage made even less when you rely on other people. At least when you planned it and only you are involved, you've already accounted for the possibility of setbacks with backup plans to cover them.

Relying on someone else is a hassle. But necessary sometimes.

But really, for those certain things, I hardly ever do need anyone else anyway.

I like thinking up solutions by myself. I like planning and searching around for answers to problems. Going through the plan mentally and looking for places where chance and luck might fail you, and coming up with another plan just in case.

I can't stand it when things go wrong, or have a risk of going wrong. I gotta make it as foolproof as possible.

And when I manage to get the full plan down pat, I feel relieved and accomplished.

(Is this why I get so high when I solve a really hard math question? Fml.)

Of course I can't do it all myself. The planning, details, coordination and whatever else I can do and afford, I try my best. But sometimes my plans do happen to call in a few favours from the loyal ones.

And I'm really glad and grateful for those who are there.

And when my plan falls apart and the backup goes the same way, I do have breakdowns, ranging from minor ones like making squeaky noise to major ones like shutting myself away and crying my eyes out.

When this happens, don't tell me why I suck or rub it in. Either go along with my next solution, or just be there for me.

Because I don't want to be saved, but sometimes I just want to be understood. That in itself is a rescue already.

And I am very thankful for that.

P.S.: Ok, maybe I'd liked to be saved once in a while. :)

Port Dickson

Sneezing causes brain cells to die.

At least that's what I heard on mix.fm the other day. And I've been sneezing non-stop today.

Stupid liao. T___T

Hopefully coughing doesn't do that or I'm a certified retard by now.

But I think I'm getting well. I've been a good girl and avoiding cold drinks (LE GASP!) while drinking lotsa warm water.

Yay for my self-discipline!

Left eye currently muuuch better, only in bright light do things get fuzzy and pale, like errr, when you use the soft focus on a camera. Right eye still just as blur.

But both much less red already! In fact, I promised my boss to start work on Monday!

Dunno whether I'm being too ambitious but I'm scared of getting fired before I even started. D:

Anyways, loooong overdue pics of Port Dickson that people are starting to ask if I accidentally deleted them and didn't want to admit. -__-

Come on la, it's been only a week and my eyes' health take one step back everytime I look at the computer screen or TV for too long. And I just major killed them yesterday catching up on all the manga I missed since two weeks ago when my eyes starting going cacat.

So okay, it wasn't that long a journey but we got lost halfway. Never had we realize how handy a (porperly updated, ahem -.-) GPS would be to get to our location through the smoothest and fastest route.

Plus, there were very few signboards showing the way and most were super misleading. Weird because this is quite a well known hotel.

After more than half an hour of hunting, driving and useless directions given by the locals, we got to the Legend Water Chalets.

My cousin Chuan's girlfriend really look like some Taiwan ming xing (celeb) right? So pretty!

Summore pair with my cute niece, this pic is pricelessly cute!

Waiting in the lobby.

I guess the long searching was worth it because this place is simply lovely.

Double thumbs up to whoever designed the place and rooms because they really give the relaxing seaside vacation feel.

And I didn't really have much faith since PD's seawater cleanliness has been deteriorating over the years, but it's still tolerable la.

Even so, the area was super ulu. It's like what I'd picture Muar to be like.

(Apparently, Muar is very ulu according to Ash's friends whose hometown is there. We make fun of it unmercifully.)

You enter your chalet and straightaway you're greeted by a very nice bathroom. Nice concept but makes whoever using the toilet feel a little bit exposed. =X

There's even a porthole thingy in the middle of the floor so you can view the sea rising and subsiding with the tide!

Reminded me so much of the Avalon, the place we stayed in PD like ten years ago. That one the whole room is made of planks and you can see the sea below!

I was so scared before though, that I would fall through and plunge into the murky sea depths below. T_T

Toilet very nice and clean.

The thing at the side of the toilet bowl is like something partway between a jacuzzi and a bathtub.

It's shaped like a jacuzzi but that's about it. It doesn't have jet sprays or anything that would categorize it as a jacuzzi other than the shape.

It basically functions like a normal bathtub except the shape won't allow you to lie and soak comfortably in it.

And interesting as the tap may be, the water pressure isn't really strong enough to create a good amount of foam and bubbles. And I do love my bubbles.

Form over function much?

The shower has a wide open space to stand and a wide ledge to place your soaps on but for some reason the water is always freezing cold in the morning.

Gets warm very quickly at night though.

And there's a skyroof that can be slide open and close with a rope.

But dunno why the rope is in the bedroom so whoever is in the shower can't control it. o.O

The open roof makes the toilet smell like the salty sea!

The bed is very pretty and comfy!

But it's right below the aircon so my parents were freezing their butts of at night lol.

The sofa bed! It's actually a queen sized bed tucked in a corner with a good view of the opposite chalets.

Snug and comfy too. :)

Another porthole in the middle of the bedroom!

This one is slightly longer so it's rectangular.

SIs wanted a pic too, then complained her legs look too muscular. =.=

But I have to say I agree. :P

A small balcony to look out from.

Tide still pretty low then.

Cousins are next door!

Rawr! I is teh bagging the sofa bed!

Chilling abit before we went for dinner since it was still early.

Being fascinated by the hole.

It seems you can sometimes see baby fishes and crabs below, but my vision was super blurry then so I couldn't see nuts. T___T

Chuan koko playing airplane with them!

I remember my sis and I used to quarrel over whose turn it was when we were little kids too.

Had some cornetto ice cream Dad got from the convenience store below.

Then we set out on a walk around the place!

Love this pic, but my sis had to run all the way to the other side to pose lol. She was very willing though. :P

See, the water chalets are all built above water (hence water chalets) so you can hear the waves wherever you are.

Megan taking a picture of dad taking a picture of us as we rested in the pondok that was about the furthest out.

Group piccy from cousin camera!

And ours! Dunno what Megan is doing here.
Then Janice borrowed the camera and actually took these two very nice shots of Sien jie jie and Lee Yan jie jie.

Ok I had to use the comp to increase the brightness and contrast all that for the second pic but still very good leh!

Very beautiful view of the sea and the islands farther away.

Then the setting sun came out and cast that shimmery golden path on the sea.

Because my eyes still too sensitive and blurry, I really couldn't fully enjoy the view. So I took a crapload of photos to see later when I get better. Smart leh.

Sis chilling on the deck chair on the balcony before dinner.

Um, I was bored?

*bricked*

Went out to tour the area and look for a nice place to eat. Once again, I want to stress how ulu that place is. There were only a few lots of shops, but most of the place seem to be composed of desa like that wan.

You know, village-ish. Pitch black roads, old abandoned-looking houses, very few streetlights, dark hutan surrounding, lots of dead ends and decrepit shops and petrol stations. No malls or bright lights or big billboards.

Nothing against it but kinda boring and a bit scary if you lose your way lor.

Also we didn't really know where to go eat (not like there was a lot of choices anyway) so we settled for this shop nearby that my cousin's friend recommended.

Anyway, the rest of the restaurants all like pak bang wan, nobody but the employees sitting around.

It was a seafood shop in the corner but I forgot the name already. D:

Aiya, some chinese seafood place la. They all look the same to me anyway.

Interesting teapot.

Our dishes for the night, got others but I didn't manage to take photos of them. But all not bad.

Even the fish! Though I ate very little of it and more of the tofu. :D

The egg has century egg mixed in it, yum!

I remember the place was too bright so I had to wear my retarded clip on sunglasses and got quite a few people staring at me.

I suppose I really did look like some blind bat. T_T

Went back to the hotel to rest after that but didn't sleep until quite late. Cousins went to the lobby to play online FB poker. =.=

The pool at night is pretty.

Here's a funny video I took around dusk.

(you should turn down the volume, it's quite loud since I was calling to my sister. -.-)

Wanted to show how peaceful and serene the sea was around but ended up taking a video of a person swimming to shore. Quickly called my sis who was reading next to me to come see.

We reckoned he fell in while fishing. Lucky the tide wasn't that high.

I know I sound weird. But in my defense, I didn't know my handphone's mike recorder was that sensitive. =.=

Next day pics up soon!

Gonna go rest my eyes again. Ow.

P.S.: WHEEEEEEEEEE! Isshin has never looked so cool! :DDDD
